Ekco U199

Ekco U199

The Ekco U199 was released in September 1953 retailing for £15 17s, a slightly above average price for a slightly above average receiver.
It may have used a standard early 1950s valve lineup but it produced a very good sound and unlike other cheaper sets of the period it had a tone control and three preset stations, also, the dial was illuminated by a 15W pygmy lamp giving far greater illumination than other radio receivers.
It sold fairly well with it’s attractively styled Bakelite case although examples are not particularly common today.

This example is fully restored and working, although please state whether or not it is required to be in working condition, as if not the valves will be removed before despatch to eliminate risk of them becoming damaged.

Cosmetically it is in excellent condition.
