Ekco U332

Ekco U332

wThe Ekco U332 was released in the late 1950s (c.1957) and was designed to be a cheap ‘second set’. It retailed for £10 12s 3d. By this time the television was taking centre stage in the home and small cheap attractive AC/DC mains sets like this were made to be used in dining rooms or bedrooms.
The Ekco U332 was such a set using only 3 valves plus rectifier and no dial lamp. It was made in many different variants of cabinet colour, speaker cloth, knobs and tuning dial glass. This version appears to be a later model with a highly attractive and bold red painted Bakelite cabinet.

Electrically it is identical to the Ferranti U1015.

This example is fully restored and working, although please state whether or not it is required to be in working condition, as if not the valves will be removed before despatch to eliminate risk of them becoming damaged.

Cosmetically it is in good condition although the red paint is original so has become lightly chipped in places over the last 50 years!
Sadly there is also a crack in the top of the cabinet, back left.
