Ferranti U1015
The Ferranti U1015 was designed in the late 1950s (c.1957) to capitalise on the cheap attractive second set market. After the post-war economic boom people began to buy television sets and also desired a radio for their dining rooms and bedrooms. This attractive Ferranti was just the sort of radio the public bought in thousands. It was cheap, using a 3 valve plus rectifier circuit (identical to the Ekco U332) and even omitted luxuries such as a tuning dial lamp. Many variations were made with different knobs, speaker grilles, cabinet colours and dial glasses. This is believed to be an early example c.1957/1958 and features an attractive black Bakelite cabinet with white trim and a turquoise tuning dial with black flanks and gold styling.
This example is fully restored and working, although please state whether or not it is required to be in working condition, as if not the valves will be removed before despatch to eliminate risk of them becoming damaged.
Cosmetically this is in very good condition, with some chipping to the front paint of the radio. This is the original paint.
