Marconi T26A
The Marconi T26A was released in November 1950 for £18 18s, a fairly high priced set. It featured long, medium and short waves as well as three presets. It also used an internal plate aerial whereas many other sets of this period needed a separate external aerial wire. It used a four valve plus rectifier circuit and provided good quality audio on all wavebands although typically short wave needed a good external aerial to pick everything up. It sold well although sadly with most wooden radios many are now in poor condition.
This example is fully restored and working, although please state whether or not it is required to be in working condition, as if not the valves will be removed before despatch to eliminate risk of them becoming damaged.
Cosmetically this is in excellent condition although there is a small rip to the speaker cloth along the bottom. This is not particularly visible unless viewed directly head on and in good light.
